Occupied - This near future drama and thriller television show explores a world where Russia is in control of Norway in order to fix oil production. Documentary Now! - The brilliant comedic minds of Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, and Seth Meyers created “Documentary Now!” which is essentially a satirical anthological documentary series. Undefeated - World of Tomorrow - Being a short film with a run of only 16 minutes, this creative work by Don Hertzfeldt certainly didn’t hold back on the creativity. The Fundamentals of Caring - Victoria - The story of this film is simple, Victoria meets a group of men at a club and through a series of events she finds herself helping them rob a bank. Fruitvale Station - This phenomenal biography is based on racial profiling and police brutality, two problems that are highly relevant today. Rectify - When a television series’ main storyline focuses on a real life topic or events that occur in the real world, it makes it just that much more interesting. The Imposter - This fascinating documentary tracks the story of a young boy named Nicholas Barclay, who disappeared, only to show up over three years later on an entirely different continent. Look who's back - This comedic film that only released back in 2015, revolves around a time travelling Adolf Hitler which might sounds awful, but it actually made for quite an interesting and unique movie. Dope - Dope was a very well made movie from 2015 that took a very accurate and well focused look at a young man’s journey for self identity. Oldboy - Being a movie that came out of South Korea, Oldboy had fairly little exposure to most Western audiences despite its critical acclaim. Adult Beginners - This feel good and comedic movie that follows Jake, played by Nick Kroll, a man whose life blew up in flames just a short while ago, causing him to lose all of his money. Europa Report - With space exploration movies like Interstellar, the Martian, and Gravity being so successful in recent times, it’s honestly surprising Europa Report hasn’t found a bigger audience yet. Trust - Trust tells the story of a fourteen year old girl who falls victim to a rapist, and then has to deal with the aftermath of the incident. Housebound - The first film by director Gerard Johnstone, Housebound delivers as a rather classic style horror movie. Frank - Dramatic comedies have never walked the line of outlandish and fascinating so well. Would You Rather - Would You Rather is a psychological horror movie that can be related to the likes of Saw, with a few key differences like the competition aspect. Mr. Nobody - One of the most highly regarded movies to come from actor and singer Jared Leto, Mr. Nobody’s lack of widespread popularity probably comes from its four year delay before distribution in the US.
