Top 10 True Stories You Won’t Believe About Famous Logos
Famous brands need clever, sophisticated logos. Some are very simple and effective. Others are smarter, with hidden messages buried inside them. Some have even been around for hundreds of years. But have you thought about how these logos came to be? Subscribe for more! ► http://bit.ly/BeAmazedSubscribe ◄ Stay updated ► http://bit.ly/BeAmazedFacebook https://twitter.com/BeAmazedVideos http://ift.tt/2pJiCIQ ◄ For copyright queries or general inquiries please get in touch: beamazedvideos@gmail.com Credit: Be Amazed at these top 10 true stories you won't believe about famous logos. The MGM Lion - The movie maker Metro Goldwyn Mayer is one of the world’s favourite corporate logos. Firstly because it tells you the adverts have finished and the movie is finally starting. Secondly, because it has a massive roaring lion in it. The Captain Morgan pirate - The Captain Morgan pirate is one of the best-known corporate mascots in the world. His likeness has graced bottles of rum since the 50s, and inspired this NFL celebration, landing the Captain in hot water. Chupa Chups - Hands up who likes Chupa Chups! Of course, we all do. They’re a worldwide sensation. The gold standard in lollipops since 1958. This sweet on a stick was invented by Spanish candyman Enric Bernat, but they were not as immediately popular as you might think. Android - Officially, the little green man who greets you when you open your Android device doesn’t have a name. Some of the team at Google call him Bugdroid , as he’s always chasing down bugs. Those crazy computer guys! McDonalds - There are many myths and legends associated with the McDonalds Golden Arches, one of the most recognisable logos in the world. Is it inspired by the letter M? Apple - If you’re not watching this video on a little green Bugdroid device, you’re probably watching it on an Apple screen. That famous logo, the apple with a bite taken out of it, is simple, effective, as familiar as your own face. But what you may not know, is that it’s not the original Apple logo. The Bacardi bats - Back to rum, and the most famous rum brand in the world, Bacardi. If you’ve ever wondered why Bacardi bottles are adorned with bats, our story begins in 1862, in Cuba. Jagermeister - Staying with the hard stuff, it’s the favourite green tipple of apres-skiers everywhere, Jagermeister. On every Jagermeister bottle, you’ll see a crucifix and a stag’s head, and you may be asking yourself, what’s that got to do with Jagerbombs? Well, it starts in 727 AD with a hunter named Hubert. Nike - These days graphic designers spend weeks creating a logo. They spend their ‘blue-sky thinking’ and testing their ideas on focus groups. Walt Disney’s signature - When people ask you for your signature, it’s because your signature is yours and yours alone, that’s how they know it’s you. When people asked Walt Disney for his signature, they were invariably confused.

Restaurant secrets - You probably think I’m being a bit harsh on the fast food industry here. Let me redress the balance. The guys at the other end of the spectrum, high-end restaurants, play tricks on us too. Why do you think they restaurants play classical music over the speakers? Research by the University of Leicester showed that classical music increases the amount of money people spend by more than 10%, compared to when there’s no music. Political secrets - If they wanted to, governments could shut down a lot of the food industry’s murky practices. To stop that happening, big food companies spend a lot of money and effort playing politics. Health secrets - In today’s health-conscious times, food brands want you to think they’re good for you, so you’ll buy more of them. Unfortunately, when a food screams at you from the packet about how healthy it is, it isn’t always the case. Use-by date secrets - You’re hungry, but when you open the fridge, all that greets you are some random foodstuffs, and they look like they’ve been there a while. Colour secrets - Call me old-fashioned, but I like my food to be the right colour, and I’m not alone. Supermarket secrets - As much as the food industry likes to play with our food, its advertising and packaging to make sure we buy it, your supermarket is doing its best to manipulate you too. Brain manipulation secrets - The food industry employs psychologists to work out how they can subliminally influence our minds, so we buy more product. Researchers in Belgium figured out that humans are drawn to glossy objects, because shiny and glossy surfaces make us think of water and our brains remind us that we need it to survive. As a result, soda companies make their bottles and cans glossy, with bubbles and dewy drips all over them.

You already know that humans can see through their eyes – and use touch, smell, hearing and taste to interact with the world – but did you know about our other senses? A Karate Blackbelt Doesn’t Make You An Expert, It Makes You Competent - Shall we blame the movies for this one? In childhood the idea of a black belt in a martial arts like Karate was synonymous with seriously scary martial arts skills, someone who would wipe the floor with you as effortlessly as Mr Miagi from the Karate Kid. You Can’t See the Great Wall of China from Space - Most of us have never been to space so if people tell us that the Great Wall of China is the only man-made structure on Earth you can see from there, why wouldn’t we believe them? Goldfish Don’t Have 3-Second Memories, They Have Five Month Memories! Assumptions that goldfish can only hold things in memory for three seconds have been reinforced by humorous portrayals of forgetful goldfish like Dory in Finding Nemo, but scientists recently discovered that goldfish were able to associate a certain sound with feeding time and that, even after being released back into the wild, away from the sound, still responded to it five months later. Vikings Didn’t Wear Horns On Their Helmets. Everyone knows what a Viking looks like. The image of big bearded Scandinavians charging through the surf with horned helmets has become synonymous with our idea of the raiding seafarers, but get this: Viking helmets did not have horns on them.

The Most Genius Food Packaging Designs Ever Created
Sometimes all it takes to make a meal great is presentation, so much so that you can even forget how crappy the food is because of how impeccable it’s been packaged. With that in mind, here are perhaps the most genius food packaging designs ever created. Subscribe for more! ► http://bit.ly/BeAmazedSubscribe ◄ Stay updated ► http://bit.ly/BeAmazedFacebook https://twitter.com/BeAmazedVideos http://ift.tt/2pJiCIQ ◄ For copyright queries or general inquiries please get in touch: beamazedvideos@gmail.com Credit: To promote the legendary anime and manga franchise Dragon Ball Z, convenience store chain Mini Stop came up with a box that makes their French fries look like Son Goku’s spiky yellow super Saiyan hair. No matter how big or tough your local school bully is, I’m pretty sure that unloved suicidal asshole is not immune to diarrhea. Instead of using materials like wood, paper, or metal, this box of honey is made entirely of beeswax, which means that you can turn it into a wonderful scented candle block by simply adding a wick to it. Tea has a reputation for being a calming beverage and these flowering tea bags just adds to that. These cups are exactly as advertised: they’re edible containers that you can bite down on once you’re done with whatever’s in them. The coffee caddie is a simple yet convenient innovation on coffee cups, with its lid containing holders for your packets of sugar and creamer. You don’t really need to come up with something extravagant to revolutionize something. In one of those rare instances where food and technology combine, McDonald’s’ Goal! This little tin tube that holds cookies turns into a wonderful bowl when you unravel it, which means you’ll have one fewer bowl to worry about after eating it. When McDonald’s had their Luxury Burger promotion, which had them selling sandwiches with pricey ingredients like truffle sauce and such, they made damn sure they won’t serve it to you in a paper wrapper like a peasant. This clever little design does away with all those bulky parmesan shakers you see in stores by molding the cheese into a pencil, which you simply have to shave off using a sharpener and onto your pasta. What’s one of the main problems when you cook pasta? Why, the amount per serving, of course. Not-so-fun fact: it’s considered unwomanly for Japanese ladies to open their mouths in public. When you mix tea time with craftwork, you get these goldfish teabags that make your cup look infinitely more interesting, granted you don’t let it into your head that your drinking goldfish pee. Any alcoholic would weep in joy with this wine bottle, which has a cap in the shape of a glass cup. This clever wooden wine box turns into a quaint little birdhouse complete with perch once you’re done getting sloshed. Fast food chain Togo burger came with this versatile paper packaging for their take-out meals. For one, it can hold everything right from your soda down to your straw. You might know this already, but teabags can be used multiple times. With that in mind, these teabag hangers come in very handy in literally hanging your used teabags to dry after you use them, which is way better than just letting them sit sopping wet in a saucer. Pizza, as awesome as it is, has one glaring flaw: they’re greasy as all hell. With the paper towel pizza mat, however, that won’t be a problem at all.

Thalattoarchon - As of this video, not a whole lot is known about the Thalattoarchon, considering it was only discovered about 4 years ago. Thalassomedon - If the Loch Ness monster was real, then cross your fingers that it isn’t a Thalassomedon. Giant Pacific Octopus - At up to 30 feet long, from head to the tip of its tentacles, and weighing anywhere around 130 to 165 lbs. Nothosaurus - The Nothosaurus were notorious predators during the Triassic era, as they are known to have been blitz hunters, in that they preferred attacking swiftly and by surprise to capture their prey. Giant Squid - Jaekelopterus - The Jaekelopterus is the kind of creature that you can usually find in science fiction stories. Tanystropheus - At 20 feet long and with a weight clocking around at only 0.4 tons, the Tanystropheus doesn’t look like it’s much of a threat compared to the other creatures on this list. Giant Oarfish - Oarfish are a pretty rare sight in the world today, which gave way to the superstition that there’s a disaster coming when they wash ashore. Liopleurodon - The Liopleurodon is the perfect poster boy for nightmares that could be found in the oceans prehistoric or otherwise. Dakosaurus - This monster from the Jurassic period is believed by experts to be similar to modern day crocodiles. Edestus - The Edestus is a prehistoric shark that lived around 300 million years ago, in an era known as the Carboniferus period. Shastasaurus - The Shastasaurus is another one of the Triassic period’s giant marine monsters. This 65-foot long reptile belonged to the Ichthyosaur family and weighed somewhere around 5 tons. Mosasaurus - If you've seen Jurassic world, you'll recognize this creature. Though, back when it was alive, it was a surface dweller, rather than a performing monkey at an extremely dangerous amusement park. Tylosaurus - The Tylosaurus is what you could call a close cousin of the Mosasaurus. young.Whale Shark - Whale sharks, if anything, hold the right to bear the title of “gentle giant.” Sperm Whale - Sperm whales can grow up to lengths of 67 feet and can weigh approximately 45 tons. Basilosaurus - Despite its name suggesting that it’s a reptile, the Basilosaurus is actually an ancestor of the modern day whale. Fin Whale - Fin Whales are known as the second-largest animal in the world, which is just right behind the Blue Whale – another entry in this list – in terms of size. Blue Whale - Blue whales are the largest animals known to man. Standing at around 90 feet long, with a weight reaching up to 200 tons, these aquatic marvels are also becoming rarer and rarer in the world today. Megalodon - Despite being slightly smaller than the blue whale, its maximum size is still heavily debated, and given its ferociousness, you'd probably be frightened into thinking it was bigger than any other creature in this video.

Top 20 Things You’ve Been Pronouncing Wrong
Ever wondered how to pronounce words like nutella and Hyundai? From the proper pronunciation of Adidas to whether nike is pronounced as ni-key, here are the top 20 words that you’ve probably been pronouncing wrong. Del Monte - Guys have been mispronouncing this name and here is why. When it comes to pronouncing Del Monte, a great number of people split it into two syllables instead of three. TagHeuer - A brief intro; this is a Swiss company which manufactures, as the CEO puts it, 'irresistible timepieces'. Iraq and Iran - Eye-rack? Seriously guys Eye-rack?? IKEA - More interesting is how most folks mispronounce IKEA as “eye-key-yah”? Porsche - No fun facts here other than that most Americans cannot pronounce Porsche right. “Porsh” as most refer to the German automobile maker is incorrect. Hyundai - The South Korean automaker's name is quite challenging for most English native speakers to pronounce. In Korea, the name is pronounced as HYUN-day. Nike - There has been a decade’s long debate regarding the pronunciation of the name of the world’s largest sportswear brand Nike. “Nyke” or “Nikey”? Hermes - Commonly mispronounced as “her-meez”, Hermes is a French fashion company which deals with extremelyhigh-end commodities. Ocado - Ocado, commonly mispronounced as “oh-cah-doh” is UKs leading online supermarket. Fage - This is a Greek dairy company headquartered in Athens. Volkswagen - This marks our halfway point through this list and which better way to mark it than with Volkswagen. Adobe - Seeing that this name is on this list, then one thing is for sure. “Ah-dobe” as the Computer software company is commonly referred to is not the correct pronunciation. Melbourne - Looking at the name, it screams to be pronounced “mel-born”. Dubai - This was a kick in the teeth. I did not expect that most peeps (myself included) would be mispronouncing Dubai. How? Renault - “Ren-olt” or “ren-oh”? This has been a bone of contention amongst most petrol heads, and natives are at fault for mispronouncing this name. Brisbane - Okay, these Aussie names are getting out of hand. Who agrees with me that this should not be pronounced any other way if not “Bris-bayne”? Well, this is quite erroneous but it all boils down to different phonetics. The River Thames - In the USA more specifically Rhode Island, there is a street called Thames that’s pronounced “Thaymz”. Lafayette - This is a town in Onondaga County, New York. Adidas - There is an urban myth that Adidas is short for “All Day I Dream about Sex”. Gold Paint - Alex Tribbet of Ohio was arrested for huffing paint... or what Ohio police called ‘abusing harmful intoxicants’. Ranaldo Jack - Christmas came early for then 17-year-old Ranaldo Jack of Atlanta, who was arrested in November of 2011 after getting stuck in a chimney. Nancy Duarte - Nancy Duarte's unusually smiley mugshot can be explained by the fact that she was really happy after attempting to burn down a yoga studio. Drunk as s*** - You know that embarrassing moment when you're wearing a t-shirt that says “drunk as s***” and you get arrested for driving drunk as s***? Yeah, neither do I. Bobby Burt - Bobby Burt of Pittsfield, Maine, thought his DUI arrest was something to celebrate, so he had his mugshot put on a t-shirt! Micah Daley - And Micah Daley of Lee County, Florida probably meant to go play Monopoly when he put on this board-game themed “Go directly to jail shirt.” Deborah Asher - In another ironic wardrobe choice, Deborah Asher of Kentucky proudly put on an “I love Crystal Meth” t-shirt shortly before being arrested for...you guessed it...crystal meth. Jeffrey Chapman - Jeffrey Chapman of Kansas was arrested for murder...and he already had the word MURDER tattooed on his neck. Bride behind bars—Tammy Lee Hinton - Tammy Lee Hinton of Michigan was arrested shortly after her wedding. She had been wanted on a felony warrant for identity theft for two years but had avoided capture. The Clown Caper - While we're on the subject, if you're wanted by the cops, maybe don't go out in attention-getting outfit like this one, either. He ALMOST broke out of jail - A man named Ronaldo Silva attempted to escape prison in Brazil by dressing as a woman. Oneal Morris - Oneal Morris' mugshot went viral not just because she had impressive curves, but because her crime was trying to enhance someone else's gluteus maximus. Too Drunk to Hold Head Up - Sean Carl Payne of Humble, Texas, will have to be a little more humble the next time he brags how well he can hold his liquor. Matthew Gibeault - If Matthew Gibeault was trying to convince officers he was innocent of the drug paraphenalia charges they arrested him for, he probably should have tried a more serious look. The Joker - Wearing a mask in public is no joking matter in Winchester, Virginia—it's a felony. Dion Milam - You might think this is the craziest mug shot, but the story behind it is even wilder. Yes, there's probably a story behind those two black eyes, and the “Aryan Honor” and swastika tattoos are horrifying.

Golf balls - White and pitted on the outside - we all know what texture features on golf ball’s exteriors. Bowling balls. If golf balls are planets then this ball is the Sun! Cutting open a big old bowling bowl reveals a hard core of weighty resin or different shaped weights which affect the way the bowling ball travels. Bullets are formed from many components - they're pieces of precision engineering as they need to fly true to their trajectory and most importantly, fire in the first place and not backfire or jam. Aloe Vera. It has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Camera lens. More mechanical intricacy, this cross section reveals that a camera lens is an astoundingly complex bit of kit that comprises of many interlinked lenses that move in tandem in order to focus light onto a camera's film or digital sensor. Shell. A cross section, the wonderful patterns are revealed in all their beauty. Jawbreaker. They're rock solid and have a rocky, banded interior, where the multicoloured layers of sugar stack up to form these mammoth sized sweets. Pot noodle. A small little device, Zippos have been around for ages and have a classic look when you take their interior in a cross section. Tortoise Skeleton - Want to really behold nature's complexity and beauty? The logical way is to go and cut a tortoise skeleton in half, of course! Stem - This time we have a microscopic cross section - incredibly detailed and colourful. It reveals the complexity of a plant stem, the main component of a plant which supports it and brings nutrients up from the ground. Plane - It's not just small things that humans have cut in half. Key and lock - An everyday item that we never see the inside of, a lock and key is a surprisingly complex bit of engineering. We take them for granted, but they do so much work for us, securing our houses day and night, our cars, our school lockers and our luggage, but how do they work? Toothpaste - Ever wonder how the stripes in your toothpaste don't get mashed up? The cross sections reveal all. Cruise Ship - Ships are sometimes lengthened by cutting them in half and adding a cross-section into the middle of the boat and then they're of course, welded back up to be watertight and strong. Grey Owl - Owls look like big birds, their feather are very thick and densely layered and they have big, round heads with big eyes. Gas Station - Fireworks - Fireworks are just primitively built explosives but they do feature a host of chambers that are filled with different chemicals which produce different colour explosions. A fuse delays the take-off long enough to get away from the firework and then it's propelled into the air. Grenade - Precision engineered to work reliably, just the way you need them to, a grenade is formed from many mechanical components, exposed by its cross section. Visa cards - Something that is well and truly taken for granted - until you run out of money and really appreciate the power this small card has over you!
